2010 Winner of the Manning Award
The Bay de Verde Heritage Committee was presented with the Manning Award (in the Community Category) on March 31st, 2010. The Manning Award Ceremony took place at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s, NL.
The Historic Site Association of Newfoundland & Labrador presented this esteemed award in recognition of excellence in the public presentation of historic places.
Gerald Riggs, President of the Bay de Verde Heritage Committee accepted the award from Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland & Labrador Board Member, Derm Bennett.
2009 Winner of the Award Of Merit
On November 28, 2009 Gerald Riggs, Chairman of the Bay de Verde Heritage Committee was presented with the Award of Merit from the Museum Association of Newfoundland & Labrador.
This award was presented to the Bay de Verde Heritage Committee in recognition of outstanding contribution to heritage development in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
The President and the Vice-President of the Museum Association of Newfoundland (Peter Latta and Teresita McCarthy) were both on-hand for the presentation.
